Based on the vision that “Customer success is our success,” we would like to introduce the Enterprise Business Solution team, which delivers Upstage’s unique technologies and solutions to corporate customers! The Enterprise Business Solution team, which works closest to customers through leading partnerships, is working closely with customers in various industries, based on technology leadership represented by Solar LLM, Document AI, etc. this year and the quality experience accumulated while going through the customer LTV cycle. I am receiving AI love calls. We met Min-chan Kwon and Jae-hee Yoo, solution managers of the Enterprise Business Solution team, who are the lubricant for Upstage even in busy days and are creating a good relationship between customers and Upstage, and heard about Upstage's sincerity in captivating customers.

Minchan Kwon: Hello. My name is Minchan Kwon, Upstage’s AI Solution Manager team leader. Previously, I built my career at a tech company and a financial company, and it has been about 10 months since I joined Upstage.

Jaehee Yoo: Hello. My name is Jaehee Yoo, and I am working as a PM on Upstage’s AI Solution Manager team. As a PM for various projects at Upstage, I am responsible for successfully delivering Upstage's solutions to customers.

Q. WHAT DOES A SOLUTION MANAGER DO?

Minchan Kwon: Upstage’s AI Solution Manager performs a variety of roles.

First, we lead communication with our customers . In order to successfully carry out a project, it is important to start with an accurate understanding of the customer's problems and requirements and maintain effective communication at all stages of the project. We also manage all communications, including weekly meetings and final reports, to ensure that the customer's voice is reflected in the project.

Second, as a project manager, I establish and execute a strategic project plan . This includes setting the project's objectives, defining the scope of work, allocating the necessary resources, and continuously monitoring and adjusting the project's progress. Additionally, we oversee testing and quality assurance activities to ensure product quality.

Finally, coordinate collaboration within the team. We work closely with various team members to assign individual roles, achieve project goals, and find optimal solutions to meet customer requirements.

In these roles, we strive to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.


Q. PLEASE INTRODUCE A SUCCESS STORY YOU EXPERIENCED AS A SOLUTION MANAGER AT UPSTAGE.

Minchan Kwon: The most memorable and successful experience was successfully completing a difficult project that we started with only our technological capabilities when Upstage was not yet widely known. This project had many challenges and difficulties, but ultimately achieved high results by developing a model that exceeded the client's goals. Through this, the customer representative was recognized for his performance and was honored with an innovation award within the company.

The lesson I learned from this experience is that our customers' success leads to our success . Seeing customers achieve real innovation through our solutions and be recognized for the results, we once again realized that customer satisfaction is our top priority. This experience further solidified the value of Upstage products and served as an important foundation that led to long-term business opportunities.

Jaehee Yoo: My most memorable moment was when I received positive feedback from a client after the project was completed. The moments when customers confirm that their work efficiency has improved and their business goals have been achieved through the Upstage solutions we have built have given me great satisfaction and pride. Additionally, it was an even more meaningful experience to learn that Upstage's solutions could contribute to the growth of our clients' businesses.


Q. WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE IN DEVELOPING AND DELIVERING SOLUTIONS?

Minchan Kwon: I think the most difficult thing is continuously understanding and applying technological complexity and rapidly changing technology trends . AI technology is evolving very quickly, requiring significant effort to integrate the latest technologies into projects while ensuring stability and performance.

To achieve this, we strive to balance customer expectations with the technical constraints of the project . It can sometimes be difficult to provide solutions that are feasible and sustainable while meeting customer needs. I focus on transparent communication and expectation management with customers. We work closely with our customers to clarify their requirements and set realistic expectations about possible solutions. We strive to successfully proceed with the project by identifying problems that may arise during this process in advance and actively seeking solutions.

Jaehee Yoo: I also think that one of the most difficult challenges is that AI technology is developing very quickly. To overcome this, since I personally have no experience working as a developer, I am continuously conducting studies on AI technology . Also, if something comes up that I don't know, I ask for advice and advice from Upstage stars. Through this, we continuously strive to improve our knowledge and understanding of AI technology and solution development.

What is customer satisfaction with AI products?

Minchan Kwon: Customer satisfaction with Upstage’s AI products is very high. Based on the feedback we receive from customers in the field, the biggest strength of our product is the accuracy of the model . Compared to other products, our AI model boasts outstanding performance, which we believe is the biggest reason why customers trust Upstage.

In addition, we strive to ensure that our customers experience stable performance over the long term by providing a sustainable model that goes beyond simply short-term performance. We believe this sustainability is an important factor in delivering consistent results even as business environments change, and in building long-term partnerships with our customers.

Jaehee Yoo: I feel like I did a great job joining Upstage. In fact, all of the customers who purchased our products are satisfied with our solutions and are giving us feedback that it has helped greatly in improving their work efficiency.

A client company for which I worked on an AI OCR project was carrying out work in a time-consuming manner, such as having people manually check and input various incoming documents. However, because the templates of incoming documents are very diverse, existing rule-based OCR solutions have limitations in processing documents in various formats. However, we were able to solve this customer problem through our Document AI solution, and have now achieved great results, such as automatically entering about 90% of incoming documents.

Q. WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE FUTURE?

Minchan Kwon: As a solution manager, I have two goals. The first is to support the professionalism and growth of team members internally . As Upstage expands its AI business in various fields, its role as AI Solution Manager is becoming increasingly important. As a team leader, I want to mentor my team members to grow in their areas of expertise and provide them with the resources and training opportunities they need to compete at the forefront of their industry.

The second goal is to promote Upstage’s entry into the global market . Based on my success in the domestic market, I personally want to develop capabilities to be competitive and recognized in the global market. Through this, we would like to help Upstage expand its overseas business and provide an opportunity to promote the excellence of our AI solutions overseas.

Jaehee Yoo: Upstage currently possesses world-class technology in various fields, including AI OCR and LLM models, and I am confident that it is growing into a global tech company.
As an AI Solution Manager at Upstage, I have the ability to solve problems of not only domestic but also overseas companies in various countries in various domains such as finance, manufacturing, and logistics , and to improve the work efficiency and productivity of companies according to the customer's business environment. Second, project management capabilities are essential. Skills as a PM, such as setting goals, managing schedules, and allocating resources, are necessary to keep projects running smoothly and achieving goals.

Lastly, understanding and learning ability of AI technology is also important. The AI field is changing rapidly, so flexibility and openness are required to continuously learn new technological trends and apply them to projects.
