1. AI BECOMES A PAINTER

HAVE YOU HEARD OF AI WINNING AN ART CONTEST?
Last August, at the 'Colorado State Fair Art Contest' in the U.S., game designer Jason M. Allen created and submitted an AI program winning first prize, making the art industry buzz.
The AI program used to create this picture is ' Midjourney ' , which creates an image in just a few seconds by entering a text prompt and entering the desired concept or content in a sentence. The introductory image at the top of this post was also created by Midjourney. It's amazing how easy it is to create high-quality images.
In fact, Midjourney is not the first AI image generator. Several AI programs have been announced this year, and the era of full-scale AI creation has opened.
Starting with Open AI's ' DALL-E 2 ' released in April, ' Midjourny ' in July and ' Stable Diffusion ' in August were released. Meta's ' Make-A-Video ' in September, and ' NovelAI Image Generator ', which specializes in creating animation-style images, drew attention in October. Last November, Google released ' Imagen ' and ' Phenaki ', announcing the emergence of innovative tools that can easily create not only images but also videos.

According to research firm Gartner, the share of AI-generated content in the content market is expected to increase from 1% in 2020 to 10% in 2025 . It seems that the culture in which anyone can easily create a desired picture with just typing and clicking will become more familiar in the future.
2. ChatGPT that talks like a human
The latest AI use case to be introduced next is ' ChatGPT ' . ChatGPT is the hottest conversational AI service these days. It is a language model that supports free conversation developed by Open AI and is based on GPT-3 (Generative Pretrained Transformer 3). With the advent of this ChatGPT, it boasts amazing performance enough to be evaluated that Google's position is at stake.
Conversation continues naturally like a human being, and if there is an error in the conversation, he or she recognizes and corrects it, and raises a problem with the wrong premise . Developers can also find necessary source codes through ChatGPT, so it is also used as an easy and fast engineering tool.
Playing with ChatGPT, which has such wide usability, is trending like a kind of meme. The image below is a screenshot of a roleplay conversation with ChatGPT.
To ChatGPT, “Talk to me as if I were Namjoon Cho, a 29-year-old Korean backend developer who loves K-POP and internet memes.” You can see that he shows off his amazing conversational skills as if he were acting by a human , naturally answering various questions such as where he lives, what he is doing these days, and introducing close friends. In line with the role-play condition of being a Korean developer, he even had the skill to create and introduce a fictional character who majored in computer science at a university in Korea as a friend.
Currently, ChatGPT has limitations because it has been learned based on data up to 2021, but if it develops further in the future, it is expected that it will become a new platform that can replace search engines.
3. AI PREDICTING CRIME

A third example is AI predicting crime. Would you believe it if the possibility of the movie 'Minority Report' , which is based on a pre-crime system that predicts certain crimes before they happen and arrests criminals in advance, becomes a reality?
Last July, the British science journal New Scientist reported that an AI model from a research team at the University of Chicago predicted a specific crime with a 90% probability a week before it occurred. The research team, led by Professor Ishanu Chattopadhyay , divided the city of Chicago into 300m squares and trained an AI with crime data from 2014 to 2016 in Chicago. Then, one week after the AI model was trained, we had it predict the level of crime in each district, and we were able to confirm that 90% of them were correct. Using the same method, experiments were conducted on seven other major cities in the United States (Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, LA, Philadelphia, Portland, and San Francisco), and the accuracy of the crime prediction AI algorithm exceeded 90%.
In our society, after the pilot introduction of a crime risk prediction and analysis system called 'Pre-CAS' in May of last year, it was expanded and introduced to provincial and provincial police offices nationwide this year. It seems to be actively used as a useful auxiliary tool.
4. AI ASSISTANT, 'ACT-1'

The last AI use case to be introduced is ' ACT-1 ', which was introduced by Adept last September. ACT-1 is an Action Transformer that helps you with various tasks such as finding real estate, shopping, and excel when you enter the desired conditions. By connecting in the form of a Chrome extension, you can browse and process information like a human in APIs, web, apps, etc. just by typing and clicking.
For example, if you enter “Apartments worth less than KRW 1 billion in Seoul where a family of four can live” , ACT-1 automatically searches the website and finds a property that meets the conditions requested by the user. Even when shopping online, if you normally have to search directly on the website by specifying conditions such as the item you want to purchase, price range, and color, AI takes care of such trouble. Even if you want to ask the seller of the item , they say that they will take care of it if you ask. Even if you want to get help using Excel , just enter what you want to do, and ACT-1 will solve it for you, even if you don't have to find out what formula to use in Excel.
