Ai Startup Upstage Selects Special Military Service Company For Professional Research Personnel

(Upstage = 2021/10/25) AI startup Upstage (CEO Kim Seong-hoon), which helps companies focus on their own core business, announced on the 25th that it has been selected as a company designated for military service in the second half of 2021.


The expert research personnel system is a system in which a person who has obtained a master's degree or higher in science and engineering performs research and development work for three years at a designated company selected by the Military Manpower Administration, replacing military service. Companies designated for military service can be selected only when they comprehensively meet criteria such as the size of research personnel, the company's participation in R&D, and investment performance. Through this, SMEs can secure development manpower in the field of science and engineering, and students who have obtained degrees in science and engineering will have an opportunity to develop their research and development capabilities in the field.


UPSTAGE WAS FINALLY SELECTED AMONG 550 COMPANIES THAT APPLIED FOR MILITARY SERVICE DESIGNATION IN THE SECOND HALF OF 2021. IN PARTICULAR, UPSTAGE PLANS TO SELECT PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH PERSONNEL AS THE MAXIMUM TO THAT CAN BE HIRED BASED ON SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES, AND PLANS TO SELECT SOFTWARE ENGINEERS AND AI RESEARCH ENGINEERS.


Professionals who join Upstage as professional research personnel are provided with the same various convenience facilities, in-house training, and welfare benefits as regular employees. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work with senior developers from global tech companies such as Facebook and AWS, as well as participate in the development of AI Pack, a core product of Upstage.
