Upstage applies its model ‘Solar’ to KakaoTalk ‘AskUp’, which uses 1.65 million users
EXPECTED TO INCREASE LLM USABILITY ON KAKAOTALK WITH GPT4-LEVEL PERFORMANCE
'SOLAR' ESTABLISHES ITSELF AS THE EYE OF A TYPHOON IN THE OPEN LLM INDUSTRY... A RECORD OF SWEEPING THE TOP 30 MODELS AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS MONTH
“Apply ‘AskUp’ so that everyone can experience the excellence of ‘Solar’ and use it more usefully in their daily lives.”
(Upstage=2024/1/11) You can now easily meet Upstage’s global top LLM ‘Solar’ through KakaoTalk ‘AskUp’.
Upstage (CEO Kim Seong-hoon) announced on the 11th that it had applied its self-developed pre-learning language model (Large Language Model (LLM)) 'SOLAR' to KakaoTalk 'AskUp'.
'AskUp' is a KakaoTalk chatbot messenger developed by Upstage that allows users to ask questions and receive answers on various topics. Currently, 1.65 million users are using it. 'AskUp' provides various AI functions such as chatbot, image creation, and optical character recognition (OCR). Users can easily use the service by adding the ‘AskUp’ channel on KakaoTalk.
'Solar' is a global representative SLM (Small Language Model) with 10.7 billion parameters released by Upstage on December 14th, and has been attracting attention as the industry's most talked-about work since it took first place in the global Open LLM at the same time as the Hugging Face was released. I'm dragging. In particular, at the beginning of this month, models developed based on 'Solar' set a record of sweeping all of the top 30 rankings, establishing themselves as major global pre-learning models and being called the eye of the typhoon of Open LLM.
Upstage announced that it expects to greatly improve the usability of LLM for users by applying 'AskUp' of its own model 'Solar'. As a result of internal testing, 'AskUp' with 'Solar' provides natural answers to user questions with a speed exceeding GPT4 and a similar level of performance, and can read and summarize the contents of documents or images or search based on keywords. Expectations are rising as it can be accomplished.
Upstage plans to gradually expand the proportion of ‘Solar’ in ‘AskUp’. Currently, 'Solar' has been introduced in 10% of conversations, and it is planned to expand to a larger percentage in the future to increase utilization.
Kim Seong-hoon, CEO of Upstage, said, "As a result of internal testing of 'Solar', it exceeded GPT3.5 and there was no significant difference in usability of GPT4, so we applied it to 'AskUp' to make it more useful in daily life." After the release of 'Solar' last month, “It has received a lot of attention from the open source AI industry and has established itself as a major global pre-learning model. We hope that ‘Solar’ will contribute to making the daily lives of not only developers but also everyone more efficient.”
